Twenty applicants from Montclair, Glen Ridge, Cedar Grove and Verona High Schools received these awards. The financial successes of our semi-annual book sales this past year provided the academic awards committee of CWC with an allocation of $40,000 for girls graduating from area high schools in June of 2018. We raise funds for our scholarships in several ways, chiefly through a semi-annual “Used Book and Music Sale”, featuring more than 100,000 donated books.
Members have the privilege of attending AAUW state and regional meetings and workshops and the biennial (odd years) national convention. We are a non-profit club affiliated with the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and our membership dues underwrite their many programs.
We work to promote educational opportunities for women, to provide financial aid to college-bound high school seniors and to enjoy the company of like-minded women. We are a group of college educated women that believes strongly in the advancement of women through education, advocacy and research.
